As representatives of the broader Madison community, the mission of the MSCR Citizens Advisory Committee is to provide guidance on Board of Education policies impacting MSCR, to provide volunteer support to staff and to actively promote MSCR’s goals and public recreation services.

MSCR Citizen's Advisory Committee Application

 

Citizen’s Advisory Committee Information:

MSCR Advisory Committee members (15 total) must be residents of MMSD, or employees of agencies that provide recreational or educational services to the residents of MMSD. Members are recruited in the spring, and appointed for three-year terms beginning in August. The Advisory Committee meets five times per year, generally on the fourth Tuesday, every other month, at 7:00pm.


Advisory Committee Goals:



Expectations of Committee Members:

Committee members must be enthusiastic supporters of public recreation in Madison. They are expected to attend and participate in committee meetings and serve on a subcommittee. Subcommittees may meet monthly, depending upon the season.Current subcommittees are:

1) Membership - This group is active in the spring of each year as new members are recruited and selected for consideration by the full committee.

2) Warner Park Community Recreation Center Advisory Committee (appointed by director), monthly meetings.



Other subcommittees as decided by the full committee or director as needed.

Committee members should be willing to participate as volunteers and MSCR ambassadors during at least one event during the year.


 Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is the public recreation provider for the residents of Madison (within the boundaries of the Madison Metropolitan School District).


MSCR is a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District and has been providing recreation services for over 80 years!


We have a wide range of recreation programs and services for all ages that are offered year-round.
